This year's show will be held on June 25th and 26th in Whitehall, Montana at the Saddle Club Arena. We will host a contestant's dinner at our ranch in Cardwell following the show on June 25th.
"The Classic" Scholarship Show was started in 2007 in Montana for the O-Mok-See enthusiast. The goals of "The Classic" are to promote the sport of "pattern horse racing" referred to as O-Mok-See and fund three state-wide college scholarships for Montana's outstanding youth:
- One - $750.00 Scholarship to an overall winner of all applicants
- One - $250.00 Scholarship to College Freshmen and above
- One - $250.00 Scholarship to High School Student (Freshmen - Senior)
"The Classic" hopes to accomplish this by hosting an O-Mok-See Show that allows the entire family to compete and enjoy its horses together through the keenest of competition, but with the greatest regard for sportsmanship and fair play.
The Classic Scholarships are annually awarded to Montana's outstanding youth. These scholarships are funded through the Classic Scholarship Show fees, fundraisers, and generous donors. Scholarship determination is based on O-Mok-See Involvement, Scholastic Aptitude, Aims & Goals, School & Community Activities, Motivation, Leadership Skills, and General Impression.
All 2010 scholarship recipients were from Whitehall:
- Ginny McCracken, $100 Scholarship
- Emma Gainey-Richanderson, $250 High School Student Scholarship
- Cheyenne Raisor, $250 College Student Scholarship
- Cheyenne Raisor, $750 Overall Scholarship
We would like to encourage all to join us at the 2011 "The Classic" Scholarship Show. We would also like to congratulate all of the previous Classic Scholarship recipients and encourage all students interested in applying for 2011.
